Information for our Guests

Dear Visitors,

We are so happy that you are looking at this page.  That means you are thinking about visiting our church.  We are a family-type church whose interest is to be available to you.  Join us to study God’s Word and see how much the Lord loves you. You will find that the church members are loving and kind.

Where do I park to enter the church?

If you are facing the main entrance of the church, please park on the west side.  The door on the west side has a wheelchair accessible ramp, or you may use the main entrance.

What time does the Sunday morning service start?

Church starts at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.  Just before the pastor starts to preach, he will announce that it is time for the children to follow the leaders to the Children’s church. Our Children's church is for grades K5 - 5th grade. You can pick your child up in the back after the Worship service.  If you want to keep your children with you during the service, that is perfectly fine. We also have a nursery available during our Worship service.

What time does the Sunday morning church service end?

The church service usually ends between 12:00 and 12:15.  Sometimes the service is a little bit longer.

What type of singing happens at Flomich Baptist?

Flomich Baptist sings a few traditional hymns that are from the hymnbook.  We also sing a contemporary or praise-type song from the screen during the service.

Do I have to stand long?

No.  We have several members who need to sit for various reasons, and that is fine.  We do have a time when members may stand. The most important thing about going to church is to allow the Lord to talk to you and learn more about God’s Word.

Why should I go to church?

In this day and age, people seek direction.  The Bible can be difficult to understand, at times.  However, when Pastor Webb preaches, he follows the Lord’s guidance and makes Scripture come to life as clearly as possible. In fact, if you need to ask questions, Pastor Webb is available to talk to individuals. He truly desires that everyone accept Jesus as their personal Savior and understand God’s love for us.  Pastor Webb wants to help everyone find answers from Scripture, no matter how small or large. Just call the office and schedule an appointment.

What type of classes do you have for Sunday school?

We encourage you to attend Sunday school because you will get a chance to meet individuals as you study God's Word.  Sunday school starts at 9:45 and ends at 10:45.  The 15 minutes between church and Sunday school gives you enough time to visit or go to the restroom.

We have two adult classes from which to choose.  One is a senior ladies class, and the other class is a co-ed class for adults of all ages. This is a time when you will learn straight from the Word of God, one verse at a time. This is also a time to ask questions concerning God’s Word.  There is also a youth class for 6th-grade through 12th-grade students. We also have children's classes for K-5 through 5th-grade. You do not have to attend Sunday school to attend church, but you will find Sunday school is a good time of fellowship with others and the best opportunity to get answers to your Bible questions

Do you have any special events?

The youth group meets once a month on Friday night for games and or movies. At times, there are church-wide events such as Vacation Bible School, special lunches for some holidays, a yearly free Community Carnival, and more.

What does Flomich Baptist believe?

We have a separate page on this website that details specifics.  The great news is that everyone who believes that Jesus died for our sins, asks for God’s forgiveness, and believes that Jesus rose again to take away our sins can be saved.

After we are saved, we will want to follow God’s Word and learn from God’s Word.  The Bible clearly states, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9.  It is not by doing “good” that we are saved; it is a gift from God.  We only have to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe baptism does not save us. Baptism is a way to show others that we want to serve Him - Jesus.  It is after salvation that we can decide to take that stand for Christ.  If you would like to be baptized, please talk to Pastor Webb. Baptism at Flomich Baptist church is by immersion.  We have a baptismal pool located in the very front of the church.

Do I have to be a member of the church to attend?

No, you never have to join the church.  However, if you have accepted Christ and want to become a member, you may do so by one of two methods.  You can join by transferring your membership from another Christ-believing church.  You can also become a member by professing your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

At the end of every service, one may go to the front of the church and privately talk to the pastor about membership. Pastor Webb would be glad to talk to you. If you would like, give the church a call and leave a message.

May I join in communion?

Communion is for all Christians, whether you are a member or not. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you may partake in communion.  The ushers pass the individual pieces of communion bread in a communion plate. Please hold onto the bread until the pastor says to “take and eat” the communion bread.  The ushers will also pass the individual communion cups, which contain grape juice.  Once again, the pastor will announce when it is time to “drink from the cup.”  Communion takes place once a quarter at Flomich Baptist Church.  The communion time is a quiet time for us to reflect on the sacrifice that God’s Son gave for us to have eternal life.  The bread represents His life, and the communion cup represents the blood Christ sacrificed so that our sins would be washed away.  If you are not a Christian, or if you are not comfortable with taking communion because you are visiting, feel free to just pass the communion cup and communion bread to the next person. However, we certainly want you to know that we are an open communion church for all those who are Christians.
